The RAM 1500 Classic is essentially the original version of the RAM 1500, redesigned in the 2020 model year. The RAM 1500 Classic has a lower price tag than the newer RAM 1500, and it has the original features and styling that have impressed RAM 1500 fans over the years. The Classic comes in three trim levels for 2021, and it features impressive performance capabilities through a V8 engine that produces nearly 400 HP. Dual chrome exhaust pipes and unique exterior accents are other notable qualities of the Classic in 2021. The RAM 1500 is rated as the #2 in large trucks. Despite just launching in 2019, it has some updates for 2021 that make it an appealing choice, including a new available V8 engine with a power production of 702 HP. It is also now available with a head-up display and more trailer safety technology.

Performance

Two engines are available for the Classic in 2021. The base engine is a V6 that delivers a power output of 305 HP. This engine’s max torque rating is 295 LB-FT. It gets nearly 400 HP in power output and 410 LB-FT of torque. The Classic has a payload of 1,810 pounds. The RAM 1500 has the same base engine and available engine, but it adds two more engine options. You can also get a diesel that delivers 260 HP and 480 LB-FT of torque or a new 6.2L V8 that creates 702 HP.

Appearance

The RAM 1500 Classic is heavier than the RAM 1500 due mainly to its sturdy steel frame. The RAM 1500 Classic has active grille shutters for style and function. The base 1500 has 18-inch steel wheels, while aluminum wheels are added to the second trim level and up. Fog lights are also included on the second trim of the RAM 1500. LED exterior lights and sidesteps come with the top trims.

Features

A Uconnect system with a 4G WiFi hotspot, HD radio, and navigation bundled into an 8.4-inch infotainment system highlights the RAM 1500 Classic.
