As you might expect from any modern Jeep crossover on the road today, the 2021 Compass and the 2021 Renegade have powerful functionality with many of the same features. In fact, they both receive 180 horsepower from the same four-cylinder engine. They also have an auto transmission with overdrive, a front strut suspension, and power steering. For differentiation, the Renegade has front-wheel drive and a multi-link rear suspension. The Compass has a four-wheel drive and a strut-style rear suspension.
While the Jeep Compass and the Jeep Renegade capabilities are similar in many areas, their styles are undeniably different. The Renegade draws its style from the Wrangler, and it has round headlights, a tall grille with vertical bars, square wheel wheels, and a boxy profile. The 2021 Compass pulls its style from the Grand Cherokee and the Cherokee. Compared to the Renegade, it is shorter and curvier. Also, it is a longer vehicle with a wider wheelbase. These models have heated mirrors, a sunroof, fog lamps, and a hands-free liftgate in select trim levels.
The smaller and more affordable Renegade keeps pace by sharing many features with the Compass.
