The RAM 1500 is the first truck in the impressive RAM line, and it is offered in seven trim levels. The Laramie sits in between the Rebel and the Longhorn trim levels in the middle of the lineup, so it is a great starting point for your truck comparison. For 2021, the RAM 1500 is available with an optional heads-up display screen and optional trailer reverse steering control. All other aspects of this mid-generational version of the RAM 1500 hold steady. The lower-level trims that sit below the RAM 1500 Laramie are outfitted with 18-inch wheels, a 5-inch touch display screen, air conditioning, trailer sway damping, fog lights, a split-fold rear seat, hill descent control, LED exterior lighting, skid plates, superior shocks, an upgraded suspension system and six speakers for the sound system. These features are also in the Laramie, and the Laramie has a few upgrades that elevate your time on the road in your new truck. These are forward collision mitigation, leather material with heated and ventilated front seats, power mirrors, power windows, and an 8.4-inch touch display screen.
Under the hood, the RAM 1500 Laramie may have your choice of three engines. The two gas engines are the 305-horsepower, 3.6-liter, V6 engine and the 395-horsepower, 5.7-liter, V8 engine. These powertrains are both available with an eTorque mild hybrid system. The other option is a V6, 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine that generates 260 horsepower.
