The 2021 Jeep Compass gets some changes that affect all trims, but it also brings some differences across the lineup. The Compass previously had numerous safety features to choose from, but now more standard safety technology is added to the Limited and the Trailhawk trim levels. Now, you’ll select an automatic transmission to power your Jeep, although the manual transmission option is eliminated. There is now a new trim package added to the Compass lineup called the 80th Anniversary edition along with the previous special-edition trims. Although the 2021 model year brings some changes to the Jeep Compass, the charismatic Jeep is still part of the second generation that launched in 2017.
Changes are in store for the Limited and Trailhawk trims in the 2021 model year. The Limited trim is configured with an 8.4-inch infotainment display screen that has a color display background. Heated front seats are standard, along with leather upholstery and a heated steering wheel. For the first time in 2021, the Limited adds more safety technology, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. The same set of driver-assist safety aids are now also standard on the Trailhawk trim. The Trailhawk is available exclusively with all-wheel drive in 2021. It adds a few options available for the Limited as standard amenities, including a raised suspension system, tow hooks, underbody skid plates, and off-road tires. The Trailhawk also adds hill descent control to its expanded list of safety features for the 2021 model year.
More options are available for giving the Compass a custom finish this year, including xenon headlights, a nine-speaker premium Alpine sound system, a sunroof, and a power-operated liftgate. The infotainment system is also upgraded this year to include integrated navigation. The 8.4-inch infotainment system, available on most trim levels, carries over from the 2020 model year but with some notable changes. This year, the more extensive infotainment system is now standard on the Limited and Trailhawk trims. Additionally, it can be configured on either model with more safety technology and more security features, which you can select by adding the Advanced Safety Group. Unique exterior accents are available for select trims this year as well.
